My name is Andrew Blake Huffman. I am a 27 year old man with a beautiful wife and precious little girl. I had a disease as a 2yr old that damaged my kidneys and as a result I had my first transplant at age 13. I have been on dialysis since April, 2016 and am in need of another transplant.
The great news is that I am enrolled in Georgia Transplant Foundation’s (GTF) Transplant Fundraising Program (TFP) and I am fundraising for costs related to my kidney transplant that will not be covered by my current insurance plan.
Through my involvement with GTF, I will be eligible to receive matched funds up to $10,000 for every dollar that I raise, which can be used for my post-transplant related costs. A $10.00 donation becomes $20.00 thanks to GTF. You can see why this fundraiser is so important to my family. Another benefit of my GTF account is that the pharmacy will be able to directly bill GTF for my anti-rejection medications which will be a huge blessing to me. All of the money I raise is kept safely in an account for my medical needs.
Transplantation can be an overwhelming situation and patients are encouraged to plan ahead for some of the uncovered and unforeseeable costs. GTF thanks you for your support of my endeavor to assume self-responsibility for my medical needs through fundraising.
FACT: The cost of immunosuppressive medications typically ranges from $20,600 to $32,900 per year and even with insurance, medicine co-pays can be unaffordable. I am a very independent man and I hate having to ask for help but I realize that we cannot do this without the financial support of others.
If you feel led to donate to my campaign, please click the Support button on my page from a computer ( not smart phone) or mail checks to the: Georgia Transplant Foundation, Attn. TFP Dept., 2201 Macy Drive, Roswell, GA 30076, and enter my name , Andrew Blake Huffman, in the memo field of your check. For more information please contact the Transplant Fundraising Program at 1-866-428-9411 or 770-457-3796 or by visiting www.gatransplant.org.
We desire your prayers for a perfect match and for this kidney to surpass the average life span of 15 years. We trust God and His will. We thank you in advance for your support and prayers.
Phil. 4:13- I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.
God Bless You,
Blake, Susannah and Blakely
