My name is Tiffaney Coley. I am 33 years old and in need of a double lung transplant. About 4 1/2 years ago, I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. With this disease my lungs have become stiff and scarred and it is difficult for oxygen to pass through. As a result of this condition, I have developed Pulmonary Hypertension and Congestive Heart Failure with an enlarged heart. Pulmonary Hypertension is type of high blood pressure that affects the lungs. My condition has deteriorated to the point where I require oxygen 24 hours a day.
I use to be outgoing and enjoyed my job as a social worker but my work hours had to decrease because I didn't have the energy or stamina to continue at my regular pace. Last week on 2/6/2012 my doctor informed me that I can no longer work at all. I am short of breath, constantly coughing and tired, have fainting spells, swelling in my feet and chest pain. Without a double lung transplant my prognosis is poor.
Therefore, I am appealing to you to help me raise funds for post transplant expenses. The Georgia Transplant Foundation has agreed to match funds contributed up to $10,000. The cost of medication can average between $20,000 to $30,000 per year and even with insurance can be unaffordable. To donate to this fund, please click, "contribute".
Thank you for your support.
