Have you ever faced a life-threatening illness for which there is no treatment? Have you ever been overwhelmed by the costs of an illness and had to rely on your family and friends to make a life-saving difference on your behalf?
Larry was facing all these conditions at once. Larry had Pulmonary Fibrosis. There is no treatment or cure for the disease and no hope for him without a transplant. Larry was screened and approved for a lung transplant at Emory University Hospital. The transplant occured in the early hours of May 15th thanks to the generosity of the donor's family.
Anti-rejection drugs will be necessary for the rest of Larry's life. Even with insurance, these costs are expected to be in the $1,200 - $2,000 per month range so his friends and family are working to raise funds which are set-aside in a restricted transplant account for his post- transplant medication requirements.
Georgia Transplant Foundation will match every dollar donated up to $10,000 and they will hold the funds to process his medication expenses as needed. You can make your donation by clicking the "Contribute" button or mailing a check with "Larry Miller" on the "For" line at the bottom of your check.
If you wish to follow Larry's progress you may go to his site at CaringBridge.org, enter LarryDonaldMiller in the "site" box. It is best to select "email" on the notification tab since we will only be posting significant changes in the coming weeks.
The family sincerely thanks you for any donation you are able to make.
